Strengthening International Legal Assistance in Afghanistan

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a member of the international community and co-operates with other States in criminal and civil matters. Increasing cross-border linkages and dependencies have introduced new challenges for Afghan State employees when requesting international legal assistance or responding to such requests from other States.

To advance the capacity of Afghan State institutions in the area of international legal co-operation, the Hamida Barmaki Organization (HBORL) and Max Planck Foundation (MPFPR) will implement a project on international legal assistance in Afghanistan. A series of seminars and workshops for the responsible Afghan officials will take place over a one-year period.
